Services

Campus Safety Inspections

Risk Managers visit each campus once per semester to conduct safety inspections specific to property and liability exposures. Corrective recommendations are presented.

DOT Testing

We oversee the Random Drug & Alcohol Testing as required by the DOT. We maintain a database of each district’s eligible drivers and schedule random quarterly testing through a certified mobile toxicology service. Our office maintains records of every test and all reports necessary for your CHP inspections. We keep up-to-date DOT manuals so we can stay abreast of changes to regulations and notify districts promptly.

Playground Audits

Our risk managers are Certified Playground Safety Inspectors. As such they can guide members in developing a Playground Safety Program, including a bi-annual playground safety audit, regular upkeep inspections, and staff training.

Incident/Accident Investigation

As part of our claim management and loss control program, CRMA wants accidents investigated. We will assist with and conduct accident investigations for our members.

Building Appraisals and Property Inventory

CRMA maintains a complete database of current appraisal replacement values on all buildings. Utilizing Marshall-Swift estimator software, we regularly update the replacement costs for every districts’ real property, including site constructed structures and portable classrooms. We maintain and update a complete inventory of your insured property and vehicles. CRMA coverage includes replacement cost for school buses. We also maintain “to scale” CAD drawings of every school site and photos of every building.

Fleet Safety Program

Our risk managers will work with your transportation department in all aspects of fleet safety. Areas include bus inspections, driver selection and hiring, DOT drug testing, and bus rodeos.

Certificates of Insurance

Our office works with Members supplying them with COI’s when needed.

One of the best methods of loss prevention and safety promotion is a safety committee. Our risk managers are available to participate on any existing committees or help members set up a new one.

Review of Injury & Illness Prevention

Every California employer – including schools – must have a written IIPP. Your safety manual includes information on accident investigations, training, inspections and record keeping. Our risk managers will review your existing materials and keep them current to Cal-OSHA standards.
